The objective of BioNTech AG (Mainz) is to develop highly innovative biopharmaceutical- and biomarker-based diagnostic tools. Only a few years after being founded by the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, the company with its seven subsidiaries in Germany and the USA has become one of the largest privately financed biotechnology enterprises in Germany.
